Avocado Smoothie and Lentil Masala Soup Recipes

I don’t know about you, but self-isolation is getting pretty lonely. Without my usual outings and activities to keep me busy, I think I am beginning to go a bit stir crazy!

That being said, I have been spending my days in one of my favourite places of all time: my Kitchen! Among other things, I have been making lots of nourishing soups to tuck away in my freezer and this Lentil Masala soup is one of the best I have made so far. Not only is it extremely flavourful, it is also very simple and inexpensive to make. Additionally (and more importantly), it is packed with healthy ingredients to nourish the body and keep the immune system strong. Definitely a family favourite!

Smoothies are another great way to keep the immune system strong, and I have been making sure to drink one every day. I usually enjoy mine in the morning but they make great snacks, too. Last week I shared my ginger-turmeric immune-boosting smoothie, and this week I have a new creamy green smoothie to share. As you can see, I like to pack all kinds of fruits and vegetables into my smoothies to ensure I am getting lots of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This smoothie in particular contains lots of healthy fats from avocado and almond butter, as well as immune-supporting, chlorophyll-rich kale.
