Janine Carter RMT
Janine Carter is a Sutherland-Chan School graduate in Massage Therapy, and a Registered Massage Therapist under the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Janine has worked closely alongside other well-established Massage Therapists, as well as Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Accupuncturists and Naturopathic Doctors.
She is known for her use of a deep but slow approach to treating chronic soft tissue injury and disfunction, in a gentle yet effective manner that combines ART/Rolfing-like techniques with more relaxing techniques to keep the tissues from tensing up while working on them.
Her areas of focus are the pelvis and spine, which has influenced her approach by using cranial sacral therapy techniques in order to get the central nervous system in better communication with the body.
She uses manual therapy to treat various pathologies, including strains, sprains, frozen shoulder, arthritis/DDD, tension/cervicogenic headaches, carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome, neurological conditions, etc.. She does fascial work, Swedish massage, trigger point work, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilizations, active release, cranial sacral, manual lymph drainage, stretching and strength building rehabilitative exercise.
Janine has many diverse interests, mostly revolving around healthy living. Sports, weight training, aerobic activities and nutritional studies contribute to her knowledge of building and maintaining a healthy physical body.
