Since then she attends recertification courses every 2 years to keep her techniques and knowledge up-to-date.
As Akari began seeing more woman in practice, her interest and focus started to gravitate towards women’s health. She studied specific pelvic and uterine treatments (Mercier Therapy) through the teaching of Dr. Jennifer Mercier in Chicago, and has since been treating women with pelvic pain and fertility challenges.
Akari has further supplemented her treatment skills for musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction with acupuncture*. Other modalities Akari implements in practice include cupping therapy, neuroproprioceptive taping, Tuina (Chinese medicine based massage therapy), and breast massage. Because of this wide scope of tools, Akari is able to offer a multi-angled approach to serve the individual needs of her clients.
*Acupuncture offered by Akari is a part of massage therapy modalities, and billed as massage therapy.
